Elections

We are currently accepting applications for the November 5 2024 election. There are three positions up for election in November. 

  1. Mayor - two year term set to expire December 31, 2026
  2. City Councilor - 4 year term set to expire December 31, 2028
  3. City Councilor - 4 year term set to expire December 31, 2028

Fully completed packets must be filed with the City Recorder by August 26, 2024 at 4:00 PM. 

To run for office in Sublimity, candidates must be a qualified elector (registered voter) under the State Constitution (Oregon Constitution, Article II, Section 2) and shall have resided in the City during the twelve months immediately prior to the election. Elected Officials must continue to be residents of the City during their entire term of office.

To apply to run in the next election, please contact the City Recorder to receive a packet. Information about holding a local position can also be found on the Secretary of State website under Voting & Elections.

Voting Information: November 5 General Election

  • Voter Registration Deadline  – October 15
  • Ballots mailed to Marion County voters – October 16
  • Replacement ballots are available at Marion County Elections up until 8 pm on Election Night.
  • Voters can use any official drop box in the state.
  • Postage is provided on return envelopes. 

Ballots must be received by 8 pm on Election Night in an official ballot drop box or at the County Elections Office, 555 Court St, Salem, OR.
