Hello Citizens of Sublimity,

I just want to update you on the State of the City during this COVID - 19 crisis.

First, I want you to know that your City continues to operate as close to normal as possible.  Staff at City Hall continue to work from home and come into the office as needed. During this time, Dailey Construction is working on the records room at City Hall.  Alan Frost and his team at Public Works continue to practice social distancing. They were able to respond appropriately when the power was out on Thursday, making sure all the lift stations and pumps were attended to with generators, etc. The City is following all the Executive Orders issued by Governor Brown.  The Governor has asked us to close the playground structures and anyone using our parks to maintain proper social distancing. We closed the bathrooms at the parks during this crisis.

Second, Santiam Hospital will be using Dixie Barth’s location at Ditters Square for a location for the Service Integration Team (SIT) headquarters for their Mobile operations. They help persons in our community with supplies they might need in a crisis like groceries, diapers, etc.  Thank you to Dixie Barth!!

Third, Marian Home and Marquis assisted living facilities have closed their campuses to only the residents, workers and emergency personnel.

Fourth, here is the link from Oregon Health Authority for more information about the statewide COVID-19 https://govstatus.egov.com/OR-OHA-COVID-19 that I use to stay informed.

And, this link https://www.211info.org/ provides you with a centralized location where you can use to find help with food, utility assistance, etc.

Last, There are many local businesses that will need our support, both during this emergency and after.   Many businesses have supported our local community through the many non-profit organizations associated with the schools, now it is time for us to support them.

Thank you and if you have any question or comments, please feel free to contact me at james.kingsbury@cityofsublimity.org or any one of your council members.  We are prepared to act, if needed, using a teleconference to convene our council meeting.
